Wellness Wednesdays: Inspire Your Children to Cook

Make cooking a family affair. Children of all ages will appreciate good food when they experience healthy cooking firsthand!

I have been trying to engage our children in cooking since they were little; measuring, mixing, stirring and tasting. I’ve had group projects and summer events including trips to farmers markets, supermarkets and specialty stores. So I am a little disappointed to find that our boys, who love food, will reach for cereal or instant noodles (for goodness sake!) if left on their own. With resolve dwindling somewhat, I have been making less effort with my ”projects” over recent years and now that our oldest has college in his sights, I suddenly heard, “Mom, can you teach me to cook a few things before the summer?.” It was music to my ears!
