Fig and Port Dessert

This dessert is particularly and wonderfully decadent when port is included in the preparation. For medical reasons or lifestyle choice, port can be left out. Gluten free ice cream or yogurt can be used as a topping.

  • Ingredients:
  • 1 -2 Figs per person
  • Port wine
  • thinkThin®Cunch (mixed nuts) (All thinkThin® bars are gluten free)
  • Sliced almonds to decorate

Instructions:

  1. Wash, top and cut figs into quarter segments
  2. Place in the bottom of a bowl and cover with port, let steep in the fridge for 2 hours
  3. Cut up or break the thinkThin® Crunch bars into small bite size pieces.
  4. Using glass bowls or pretty wine or cocktail glasses, spoon alternate layers of figs and port, then crunch nibbles.
  5. Sprinkle with almonds
  6. Finish with a sprig of mint, a raspberry, or a dollop of gluten free ice cream or yogurt
